惊涛骇浪
在家里安然观看风暴景象，确是令人叹为观止的，然而，假如你当时正在海上，又如何呢？
数年前，丈夫和我正在坐脚踏船，到了湖中央时，暴风开始酝酿了；风浪变得越来越强劲，船的方向舵又不能正常运作，我们差不多无法驾驶。我们花了很长时间，才能返抵岸边和平复焦虑的心情。
想像一下，在猛烈的风浪中的门徒会有什么感受！我可以肯定，现在我们熟识的救生衣，在那时仍未面世。湖水正在打入船内，然而，在他们的恼怒和焦虑当中，他们看到耶稣竟然睡着了，衪正在休息呢！
你曾否经历过，当你面对风暴时，耶稣似乎根本没有留意到呢？你有没有经历过未知能否逃出生天的时刻？
门徒决定叫醒耶稣。有耶稣在船中仍然不足够，他们需要祂有参与。于是他们便叫醒祂，耶稣醒了，并且平静了风浪，接着衪便质疑他们是否真的信靠衪。
你是否正在暴风之中？邀请耶稣进入你的暴风中、并且相信祂必定与你同在和会采取最合适的行动吧。
亲爱的耶稣，感谢祢在生命的暴风中与我们同在。求祢帮助我们让祢参与，而不是单在担忧和惧怕。今天求祢平静我们的暴风，奉祢的名祈求，阿们。
马可福音 4:35-41
35 当那天晚上，耶稣对门徒说：“我们渡到那边去吧。”
36 门徒离开众人，耶稣仍在船上，他们就把他一同带去；也有别的船和他同行。
37 忽然起了暴风，波浪打入船内，甚至船要满了水。
38 耶稣在船尾上枕着枕头睡觉。门徒叫醒了他，说：“夫子！我们丧命，你不顾吗？”
39 耶稣醒了，斥责风，向海说：“住了吧！静了吧！”风就止住，大大地平静了。
40 耶稣对他们说：“为什么胆怯？你们还没有信心吗？”
41 他们就大大地惧怕，彼此说：“这到底是谁？连风和海也听从他了！”
High Waves

There is something spectacular about watching a storm while you are safe inside your home. But what if you are out on the water?
A few years ago my husband and I were in a paddleboat halfway across a lake when a storm started to brew. As the wind and waves picked up, the boat’s rudder broke, and we could barely steer. It took a long time to get back to shore and for our anxiety to settle down.
Imagine how the disciples felt in the midst of a furious squall! I am sure that life jackets, as we know them, didn’t exist. Water was swamping their boat. And yet, in the midst of their exasperation and anxiety, they saw that Jesus was asleep. He was resting!
Have there been times in your life when you faced a storm and it seemed that Jesus didn’t even notice? Were there times when you were not sure whether you would survive?
The disciples decided to wake Jesus up. It wasn’t enough to have him in the boat; they needed him to be involved. So they woke him, and he got up and calmed the storm. Then he challenged them to really trust in him.
Are you in the midst of a storm? Invite Jesus into your storm and trust in him to be with you and do what is best.
Dear Jesus, thank you that in the midst of the storms of life, you are there. Help us to involve you rather than worry or be afraid. Today we ask for the calming of our storms, in your name. Amen.
