抬头一看
每当拍大合照时，假若你像我那样矮小，你知道你必定要站在最前一排的了；你也知道，每当有好东西看时，你总是站在一个最高的人后面的。撒该必然会有同样的感受，他长得矮小，聚集的人又越来越多，耶稣在大街上行走，群众都想见他，撒该唯一的选择，就是赶快跑到前面和爬到树上。
他没有想到有人会留意他的，其实他只想目睹一下耶稣的风采，万万料不到耶稣竟然看见他。
接着耶稣便自己邀请自己到他家里吃饭，向他伸出友谊之手。撒该从树上下来，他不再是人群中的无名小卒了。
在我们生命中，有时我们也感到自己是无名小卒，我们或许听过耶稣为人们作的大事，但我们无法想像或相信衪会留意到我们的。
撒该的故事提醒我们，不论我们是谁或相信什么，耶稣仍然看见我们，衪仍然会邀请自己进入我们的生命里的。
今天就是一个去寻找耶稣、准备让衪前来见到我们的好时机了。
亲爱的耶稣，感谢祢，因为无论我们在那里，祢都见到我们。求祢帮助我们知道，祢愿意与我们交往和分享生命。唯愿我们愿意尽力爬高一点，好叫我们能看见祢到来。奉祢的名祈求，阿们。
路加福音 19:1-10
1 耶稣进了耶利哥，正经过的时候，
2 有一个人名叫撒该，做税吏长，是个财主，
3 他要看看耶稣是怎样的人。只因人多，他的身量又矮，所以不得看见。
4 就跑到前头，爬上桑树，要看耶稣，因为耶稣必从那里经过。
5 耶稣到了那里，抬头一看，对他说：“撒该，快下来！今天我必住在你家里。”
6 他就急忙下来，欢欢喜喜地接待耶稣。
7 众人看见，都私下议论说：“他竟到罪人家里去住宿！”
8 撒该站着对主说：“主啊，我把所有的一半给穷人，我若讹诈了谁，就还他四倍。”
9 耶稣说：“今天救恩到了这家，因为他也是亚伯拉罕的子孙。
10 人子来，为要寻找、拯救失丧的人。”

"He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd." — Luke 19:3
If you are short like me, you know that whenever a group photo is taken, you will end up in the front row. You also know that if there is something great to see, you will often be behind the tallest person at the event. Zacchaeus must have felt that way too. He was short, and the crowd was growing. The people wanted to see Jesus as he walked down the street. The only thing Zacchaeus could do was to run ahead and climb a tree.
He did not expect to be noticed. He really just wanted a glimpse of Jesus. What he didn’t know was that Jesus could see him.
Jesus then invited himself to dinner and offered friendship. Zacchaeus came down from the tree and was no longer invisible in the crowd.
There may be times in our lives when we feel invisible, and we may hear about great things that Jesus is doing for others but have a hard time seeing or believing that he might notice us.
The story of Zacchaeus reminds us that no matter who we are or what we believe, Jesus can see us and wants to invite himself into our lives.
Today is a good day to go looking for Jesus and to prepare for him to come and see you.
Dear Jesus, thank you for seeing us wherever we are. Help us to know that you want to engage with us and share in our lives. May we be willing to stretch or climb a little higher so that we can see you coming. We pray in your name. Amen.
