天国来了吗？
施洗约翰独自在狱中时，曾怀疑“那要来的弥赛亚真的是耶稣吗？”所以，就连约翰也不能一直确信耶稣事工的目的。
希律王曾把约翰下在监里，那真是一个令人绝望的地方（参可 6:17-20）。绝望会对人产生奇怪的影响。它会导致我们质疑我们所知道的一切，因为我们想知道为什么自己会陷入困境。
耶稣对约翰问题的回应，使我们想起以赛亚，他曾预言弥赛亚来到时发生的事（赛 29:18; 61:1）。耶稣的回答使我们想起，约翰的使命是呼召人们悔改，为神国的弥赛亚，也就是耶稣预备道路。透过耶稣和约翰的事工，天国正在被推进，尽管它遭受到暴力的猛烈攻击。
尽管遭到敌对，神的国仍在继续。耶稣并没有应许，参与神的国意味着拥有舒适的生活。施洗约翰死在了狱中。但我们知道，神的国会继续前进。我们或许不能指出来说“它在这里”或“它在那里，”但我们的确知道，它在我们每个人心里，无论我们的环境如何。
主啊，我们感谢你。即使是在我们的困境和绝望中，你也已经胜过了世界。我们祈求你在逆境顺境中继续祝福我们。奉耶稣的名祷告，阿们。
马太福音 11:1-19
1 耶稣吩咐完了十二个门徒，就离开那里，往各城去传道、教训人。
2 约翰在监里听见基督所做的事，就打发两个门徒去，
3 问他说：“那将要来的是你吗？还是我们等候别人呢？”
4 耶稣回答说：“你们去，把所听见、所看见的事告诉约翰，
5 就是：瞎子看见，瘸子行走，长大痲疯的洁净，聋子听见，死人复活，穷人有福音传给他们。
6 凡不因我跌倒的，就有福了！”
7 他们走的时候，耶稣就对众人讲论约翰说：“你们从前出到旷野是要看什么呢？要看风吹动的芦苇吗？
8 你们出去到底是要看什么？要看穿细软衣服的人吗？那穿细软衣服的人是在王宫里。
9 你们出去究竟是为什么？是要看先知吗？我告诉你们，是的，他比先知大多了。
10 经上记着说：‘我要差遣我的使者在你前面预备道路’，所说的就是这个人。
11 “我实在告诉你们：凡妇人所生的，没有一个兴起来大过施洗约翰的；然而天国里最小的比他还大。
12 从施洗约翰的时候到如今，天国是努力进入的，努力的人就得着了。
13 因为众先知和律法说预言到约翰为止；
14 你们若肯领受，这人就是那应当来的以利亚。
15 有耳可听的，就应当听！
16 我可用什么比这世代呢？好像孩童坐在街市上招呼同伴说：
17 ‘我们向你们吹笛，你们不跳舞！我们向你们举哀，你们不捶胸！’
18 约翰来了，也不吃也不喝，人就说他是被鬼附着的。
19 人子来了，也吃也喝，人又说他是贪食好酒的人，是税吏和罪人的朋友。但智慧之子总以智慧为是。”
Is The Kingdom Here?
“From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.” — Matthew 11:12
John the Baptist was alone in prison, and he was wondering, “Is Jesus really the Messiah?” So even John wasn’t always certain about the purpose of Jesus’ mission.
King Herod had put John in prison, and that would have been a despairing place to be (see Mark 6:17-20). Despair can do strange things to people. It can lead us to question everything we have ever known as we wonder why we might be in the mess we are in.
Jesus’ response to John’s question takes us back to the prophet Isaiah, who foretold what would happen when the Messiah would come (Isaiah 29:18; 61:1). Jesus’ answer also recalls that John’s mission was to call people to repentance and prepare the way for the Messiah of God’s kingdom, whom Jesus truly was. And through the ministry of both John and Jesus, the kingdom of heaven was making advances, even though it was assaulted with violence.
The work of the kingdom continues despite opposition. Jesus does not promise that participating in the kingdom of God means having a comfortable life. John the Baptist died in prison. But we can expect that the kingdom will keep advancing. We may not be able to point and say “Here it is” or “There it is,” but we do know it is within each of us, despite our circumstances.
Lord, even in our trouble and despair we are thankful that you have overcome the world. Continue to bless us in hard times and good, we pray. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
