信心的榜样
百夫长遇见了耶稣。我们向神祷告时，可以用这人向耶稣祈求的态度作为典范。第一，他求助时只是简单地说清楚事实：“主啊，我的仆人害瘫痪病，躺在家里，甚是疼苦。”这个罗马长官没有正式提出请求或礼貌地向耶稣求什么，他只是在逼切的需要中呼喊耶稣。尽管我们的祷告只不过是在痛苦中的呼喊，耶稣也一样会垂听的。
第二，百夫长相信耶稣会以祂的能力来回应他的呼求。尽管耶稣提出亲身去医治那仆人，百夫长却回答说：“只要你说一句话，我的仆人就必好了。”百夫长知道耶稣有极大的能力，纵使祂不在场，祂仍然能够医好病人的。同样，我们也可以相信，耶稣是会垂听我们的祷告的。耶稣有时会医治我们的身体，有时会医治我们的情绪和灵性，但有时也会应许迟些医治我们，祂吩咐我们等待适合的时间到来。无论如何，耶稣的话必定有足够的能力医治疾病。
耶稣医好了百夫长的仆人，祂更称赞百夫长的信心。我们也蒙邀请像这人那样信靠耶稣，耶稣必定会以慈爱垂听我们的祷告、又以能力答允我们的祈求。
满有医治能力的神，求你帮助我们信靠耶稣话语的能力；我们不知怎样祷告时，求你垂听我们恳求你触摸医治我们的呼喊。阿们。
马太福音 8: 5-13
5耶稣进了迦百农，有一个百夫长进前来，求他说：
6“主啊，我的仆人害瘫痪病，躺在家里甚是疼苦。”
7耶稣说：“我去医治他。”
8百夫长回答说：“主啊，你到我舍下我不敢当，只要你说一句话，我的仆人就必好了。
9因为我在人的权下，也有兵在我以下，对这个说‘去！’他就去，对那个说‘来！’他就来，对我的仆人说‘你做这事！’他就去做。”
10耶稣听见就稀奇，对跟从的人说：“我实在告诉你们：这么大的信心，就是在以色列中我也没有遇见过！
11我又告诉你们：从东从西，将有许多人来，在天国里与亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各一同坐席；
12唯有本国的子民，竟被赶到外边黑暗里去，在那里必要哀哭切齿了。”
13耶稣对百夫长说：“你回去吧！照你的信心给你成全了。”那时，他的仆人就好了。
An Example Of Faith
“Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.” - Matthew 8:8
A centurion met Jesus. Our prayers to God can be modeled after the way this man approached Jesus. First, he asked for help simply by stating a fact: “Lord, my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” This Roman-army commander didn’t make an official request or ask politely for anything from Jesus. He just cried out to Jesus in his need. When our prayers are no more than a cry of pain, Jesus hears those prayers too.
Second, the centurion trusted in Jesus’ power to respond. Even though Jesus offered to come in person and heal the servant, the centurion replied, “Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.” The centurion knew that Jesus was so powerful that he could heal people even if he was not physically present. We too can trust that Jesus will answer our prayers. Sometimes Jesus heals us physically, and other times Jesus heals us emotionally or spiritually. Sometimes Jesus promises us future healing and asks us to wait until the right time. No matter what, Jesus’ words are powerful enough to heal.
Jesus healed the centurion’s servant and praised the faith of the centurion. We are invited to trust in Jesus, just as this man did. Jesus will listen to our prayers with love and answer our prayers with power.
God of healing power, help us to trust in the power of Jesus’ words. And when we have no words to pray, hear our cries for your healing touch. Amen.
