行淫时被拿的妇人
我的丈夫Trevor还是小孩时，在学校附近一幅被水淹了的草地上趟水，另有几个男孩站在远处，他们尝试在这个刚形成的临时池塘上面玩打水漂，其中一块石头走偏了方向，它朝着Trevor的后脑飞过去，顿时在他头上造成一道深长的伤口，在一片混乱中，他被送去缝合伤口。到了现在，他仍然带着那次意外留下的疤痕。
现在，想像一下，那个犯了罪的妇人被带到一群精明、愤怒的男士面前的情景。根据律法，他们是有权用石头打死她的，他们掷石头的方向肯定不会有失误，因为掷出的每一块石头都是准备用来杀人的。
跟着，想像一下，刚刚坐下教训百姓的耶稣，会怎样对待这个妇人呢？祂是否也同样愤怒？每一个人都在等待，看看会有什么事情发生。
耶稣并没有任何愤怒的迹象，我们只知道，祂在地上画字，然后站起来对他们说：“你们中间谁是没有罪的，谁就可以先拿石头打她。”那些控告她的人一个一个地都出去了，最后只剩下妇人和耶稣一起，祂便吩咐她，从此不要再犯罪了。
耶稣又会怎样评估你的生命呢？
主啊，我们知道我们犯了罪，然而，祢竟然为我们辩护，实在大大出乎我们意料之外。感谢祢作我们的盾牌，求祢保护我们脱离敌人的伤害和攻击，又帮助我们来跟从祢。奉祢的名祈求，阿们。
约翰福音 8:1-11
1 于是各人都回家去了。耶稣却往橄榄山去。
2 清早又回到殿里，众百姓都到他那里去，他就坐下教训他们。
3 文士和法利赛人带着一个行淫时被拿的妇人来，叫她站在当中，
4 就对耶稣说：“夫子，这妇人是正行淫之时被拿的。
5 摩西在律法上吩咐我们把这样的妇人用石头打死，你说该把她怎么样呢？”
6 他们说这话乃试探耶稣，要得着告他的把柄。耶稣却弯着腰，用指头在地上画字。
7 他们还是不住地问他，耶稣就直起腰来，对他们说：“你们中间谁是没有罪的，谁就可以先拿石头打她。”
8 于是又弯着腰，用指头在地上画字。
9 他们听见这话，就从老到少，一个一个地都出去了，只剩下耶稣一人，还有那妇人仍然站在当中。
10 耶稣就直起腰来，对她说：“妇人，那些人在哪里呢？没有人定你的罪吗？”
11 她说：“主啊，没有。”耶稣说：“我也不定你的罪。去吧，从此不要再犯罪了！”
The Woman Caught In Adultery
“Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” - John 8:7
When my husband, Trevor, was a young boy, he was wading in a flooded section of a field near his school. A few other boys were standing some distance away, trying to skip rocks on the newly formed, temporary pond. One of the rocks flew wildly off course and sailed into the back of Trevor’s head, causing an instant gash and commotion as he was brought to get stitches. He still has a scar from that accident.
Now picture the guilty woman brought before a group of smart, angry men. According to the law, they had the right to stone her to death. There would have been nothing accidental about their aim, and each throw would be intended to kill.
Then picture Jesus, who had just sat down to teach the people. What would he do about this woman? Was he angry too? Everyone waited to see what would happen.
Jesus showed no sign of being angry. All we know is that he wrote something on the ground, and then stood and said, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone.” One by one, the accusers left. Eventually only the woman remained there with Jesus. And he told her to leave her life of sin behind.
What does Jesus say about your life?
Lord, we know we have done wrong, and yet, beyond our wildest expectations, you defend us. Thank you for being our shield. Defend us from the harmful aim of the enemy, and help us to follow you. In your name, Amen.
