拿细耳人的愿是一个自愿和暂时的愿,在以色列的任何男女都可以许这个愿的。在守愿的日子,拿细耳人不可吃或喝葡萄园的出产、不可剃头、也不可挨近死尸。基于这些不寻常的限制,拿细耳人很容易便被人认出来。有些拿细耳人立的愿是终身的,而参孙大概是最具盛名的拿细耳人(士师记 13)。
人们为什么要许拿细耳人的愿呢?这是一个在神面前完全洁净自己的方式;藉着立拿细耳人的愿,你就是在表示:“我放下生活常规,把自己献给神。”在今天,我们也可以做类似的事情,例如我们可以为了更专注祷告而不吃某些食物或不使用任何科技。
从拿细耳人身上,我们可以学到什么功课呢?他们提供了一个以神的国为重、热爱神、以及献身给主的门徒典范。我们对神的奉献应该是舍己、完全、和公开的,神必须在我们生命中居首位,意思是说,我们愿意舍弃某些事情来跟从衪。神必须在吃的、喝的、家庭、和朋友之上,而更重要的,我们对神的爱应该是有目共睹的。我们以这种方式过生活,因为我们有一位为我们牺牲了自己的救主,就如一首圣诗所说的,我们宣告说:“神圣大爱奇妙难测,愿献我命、我心、我身。”
耶稣啊,我们往往害怕自己因信仰以致与众不同。惟愿我们能完全为你而活,又谨记是你先爱了我们。奉你的名祈求,阿们。
民数记 6:1-21
1耶和华对摩西说:
2“你晓谕以色列人说:无论男女许了特别的愿,就是拿细耳人的愿,要离俗归耶和华,
3他就要远离清酒浓酒,也不可喝什么清酒浓酒做的醋。不可喝什么葡萄汁,也不可吃鲜葡萄和干葡萄。
4在一切离俗的日子,凡葡萄树上结的,自核至皮所做的物,都不可吃。
5“在他一切许愿离俗的日子,不可用剃头刀剃头,要由发绺长长了。他要圣洁,直到离俗归耶和华的日子满了。
6“在他离俗归耶和华的一切日子,不可挨近死尸。
7他的父母或是弟兄姐妹死了的时候,他不可因他们使自己不洁净,因为那离俗归神的凭据是在他头上。
8在他一切离俗的日子,是归耶和华为圣。
9“若在他旁边忽然有人死了,以致沾染了他离俗的头,他要在第七日得洁净的时候剃头。
10第八日,他要把两只斑鸠或两只雏鸽带到会幕门口,交给祭司。
11祭司要献一只做赎罪祭,一只做燔祭,为他赎那因死尸而有的罪,并要当日使他的头成为圣洁。
12他要另选离俗归耶和华的日子,又要牵一只一岁的公羊羔来做赎愆祭;但先前的日子要归徒然,因为他在离俗之间被玷污了。
13“拿细耳人满了离俗的日子乃有这条例:人要领他到会幕门口,
14他要将供物奉给耶和华,就是一只没有残疾、一岁的公羊羔做燔祭,一只没有残疾、一岁的母羊羔做赎罪祭,和一只没有残疾的公绵羊做平安祭,
15并一筐子无酵调油的细面饼与抹油的无酵薄饼,并同献的素祭和奠祭。
16祭司要在耶和华面前献那人的赎罪祭和燔祭,
17也要把那只公羊和那筐无酵饼献给耶和华做平安祭,又要将同献的素祭和奠祭献上。
18拿细耳人要在会幕门口剃离俗的头,把离俗头上的发放在平安祭下的火上。
19他剃了以后,祭司就要取那已煮的公羊一条前腿,又从筐子里取一个无酵饼和一个无酵薄饼,都放在他手上。
20祭司要拿这些作为摇祭,在耶和华面前摇一摇,这与所摇的胸、所举的腿同为圣物,归给祭司。然后,拿细耳人可以喝酒。
21“许愿的拿细耳人为离俗所献的供物,和他以外所能得的献给耶和华,就有这条例。他怎样许愿就当照离俗的条例行。”
"This is the law of the Nazirite. . . . They must fulfill the vows they have made. . . ." - Numbers 6:21
The Nazirite vow was a voluntary and temporary vow that any man or woman in Israel could take. During the period of the vow, a Nazirite could not eat or drink anything from the grapevine, cut their hair, or be in the presence of a dead body. Because of these unusual restrictions, Nazirites stuck out. Some Nazirites were dedicated for life. Probably the most famous Nazirite was Samson (Judges 13).
Why would anyone make a Nazirite vow? It was a way to consecrate yourself fully to God. By taking the Nazirite vow, you were saying, "I'm stepping away from the normal routines of life to give myself to God." Today we might do something similar by giving up food or technology to devote ourselves more fully to prayer.
What can we learn from the Nazirite? They provide an example of a kingdom-minded, God-treasuring disciple, dedicated to the Lord. Our devotion to God should be sacrificial, total, and public. God must come first in our lives, meaning that we are willing to give up things to follow him. God must come before food, drink, family, and friends. Even more important, our love for God should be obvious to others. We live this way because we have a Savior who gave himself up for us. As in the words of a hymn, we declare that "love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all."
Jesus, we are often afraid to stick out for our faith. May we completely live for you, remembering that you first loved us. In your name, Amen.
