坐在我对面的人，他手臂上的棕褐色显明他长时间在户外。再看看他手上的老茧、疤痕和沾满泥土的指甲，便知道他曾长时间在农场辛苦工作。这个过着谦卑、扎实但又简朴生活的人，对环绕着他那快速节奏的世界，似乎不会有甚么贡献。
但经过与他一席话之后，就令人完全改观。因为这位谦卑的农夫绝不简单，他是一口满有智慧和经验并重的深井，他一生跟随耶稣，在超过半个世纪的时间里，他小心地照顾他灵魂的土壤。那土壤真的很好，明显地，当人让福音的种子撒在他心灵上，然后生长，结出美丽的果子，他与周边的人分享了这些美丽的果子。圣灵明显地在这人的心灵和生命里作工，而他以基督为中心，用信心所结的果子，也成为我的祝福。
你会如何把神的话应用在你的生活上，留出空间让祂的爱和美善的种子生长，又结出能吸引人去寻找和赞美祂的果子呢？
祷告
天父啊，感谢祢，因着我们相信祢的儿子耶稣撒在我们心中的种子。求祢差派圣灵去滋养和培植这些种子，又帮助我们结果子，好使他人也能享受祢，希望每一个人都得到那从祢而来的美善生命。阿们。
路加福音 8:4-15
4 当许多人聚集，又有人从各城里出来见耶稣的时候，耶稣就用比喻说： 5 「有一个撒种的出去撒种。撒的时候，有落在路旁的，被人践踏，天上的飞鸟又来吃尽了。 6 有落在盘石上的，一出来就枯干了，因为得不着滋润。 7 有落在荆棘里的，荆棘一同生长，把它挤住了。 8 又有落在好土里的，生长起来，结实百倍。」耶稣说了这些话，就大声说：「有耳可听的，就应当听！」
9 门徒问耶稣说：「这比喻是什么意思呢？」 10 他说：「神国的奥秘只叫你们知道，至于别人，就用比喻，叫他们『看也看不见，听也听不明』。 11 这比喻乃是这样：种子就是神的道。 12 那些在路旁的，就是人听了道，随后魔鬼来，从他们心里把道夺去，恐怕他们信了得救。 13 那些在盘石上的，就是人听道，欢喜领受，但心中没有根，不过暂时相信，及至遇见试炼就退后了。 14 那落在荆棘里的，就是人听了道，走开以后，被今生的思虑、钱财、宴乐挤住了，便结不出成熟的子粒来。 15 那落在好土里的，就是人听了道，持守在诚实善良的心里，并且忍耐着结实。
“The seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.” - Luke 8:15
It was evident from the tan lines on his arms that the man sitting across from me spent a lot of time outdoors. And a quick look at his hands showed the calluses, scars, and soil-stained fingers that came from a life of hard work on the farm. This man appeared to have lived a humble, strong, and yet simple life that didn’t have much to offer the fast-paced world around him.
But how quickly that impression changed with just one conversation—for this humble farmer was far more than simple. He was a deep well of wisdom and experience, a lifelong follower of Jesus who had carefully tended the soil of his soul for over half a century. That soil was really good, and that man’s heart had clearly allowed gospel seeds to be planted and to grow, producing beautiful fruit to be shared with the people around him. The Spirit of God had clearly worked in this man’s heart and life, and I was blessed by the fruit of his Christ-centered faith.
In what ways are you applying God’s Word to your life, giving room for his seeds of love and goodness to grow and bear fruit that will draw others to seek and praise him?
Lord God, thank you for the seeds you have planted in our hearts through faith in your Son, Jesus. Send your Spirit to nurture and grow those seeds, and help us to bear fruit so that others can enjoy the goodness of life you want for us all forever. Amen.
